Our Story
A family recipe, three generations, three countries
It began in 1952 in India, where our family first started steaming khaman and frying vada pav for neighbours who quickly became regulars. The recipes were never written down — they were taught hands-on, from one generation to the next, in a kitchen where taste mattered more than shortcuts.
In 2006, that same spirit crossed the ocean when we opened our doors in New Zealand, bringing Gujarati street food to a whole new community. Under the care of founder Hitesh Thakkar and the family around him, the business grew the old-fashioned way: one satisfied customer at a time.
In 2024, we brought the family kitchen to Australia, opening in Laverton North with the very same commitment we started with in 1952 — 100% vegetarian, made fresh, and served with the warmth of a family that's grateful for every guest who walks through the door.
